Motivated to join us and make a difference beyond earth? We are currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the team.

The Role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop robotic systems, including mechanical design, analysis, and testing. You will manage interfaces, prepare drawings, execute performance tests, and support simulation and validation activities, while collaborating with customers and partners.

Responsibilities 

  • Developing core robotic technologies to address a wide variety of in-orbit services, including (but not limited to) cooperative and non-cooperative capture, docking, inspection, refuelling, repair, life-extension, and assembly.
  • Work with an interdisciplinary team to create new robotic products including specification, design, prototyping, validation and testing
  • Manage mechanical and thermal interfaces
  • Establish mechanical drawings
  • Perform structural and thermal analyses
  • Prepare and execute functional performance and environmental tests
  • Document design and test activities
  • Supporting the development of world-class robotics simulation and testing capabilities and facilities.
  • Interfacing with customers, partners and subcontractors.


Must Have

  • BSc/MSc) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Similar
  • 5+ years experience of robotics or mechanisms engineering within the space industry.
  • Experience throughout engineering lifecycle (system definition, design, build, test, and on-orbit operations)
  • Experience with subcontractor management
  • Experience with environmental tests done for space mechanisms

Nice to Have

  • ​Comfortable interacting with customers, both institutional (UKSA, ESA) and commercial
  • Experience with structural analyses
  • Experience with thermal analyses
