The Role
We are looking for a Program Manager to lead ambitious, groundbreaking projects in in-orbit serving (IoS). As a key member of our UK team, you'll drive the delivery of space programs that will set the standard for space operations and sustainability.
In this high-impact role, you’ll oversee every phase of the program lifecycle, from initial concept and design to development, launch, operations, and end-of-life. This isn’t just about meeting milestones; it’s about pioneering new solutions in an industry that’s evolving at an unprecedented pace. You’ll work closely with clients and executive leadership, balancing complex financial, contractual, and quality considerations to deliver transformational outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Negotiating, managing and executing contracts for various Customers (e.g. institutional, commercial, government) to ensure requirements are met within scope, budget and timescales and to quality.
- Day-to-day management of all aspects of the program or project including the planning and organisation of all key tasks and activities.
- End-to-end mission management from initial concept / feasibility through development, launch, operations and end-of-life.
- Executing project control: financial, resource and risk management.
- Working closely with the System Architect / Technical Lead / Engineering teams to ensure the technical requirements are achieved.
- Leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams of various sizes covering program office, flight and ground segments, depending on the need.
- Ensuring deliverables are compliant with the contract baseline requirements and in accordance with the contractual milestone dates.
- Contractor and Sub-Contractor Management: supporting the procurement process and supervision of contractors and sub-contractors for their activities to ensure all requirements are met and deliverables achieved.
- Satellite Launcher Contract Management: ensuring satellite compatibility and launch with the required performance and within the required budget and timescales.
- Supporting pre-contract Request for Proposal preparations, bid evaluation and negotiations resulting in finalisation of a Contract.
- Identifying new opportunities and supporting proposal writing and submission.
- Supporting the development of ClearSpace processes to aid and improve program execution.
- Supporting promotional and PR activities.
- Supporting future hiring and interview activities.
Must Have:
- 8+ years experience in the spacecraft industry with 3+ years in technical leadership positions.
- Familiarity with the full space program lifecycle, from business development, proposal generation and contract negotiations, all the way through design, development, assembly, test and successful delivery.
- Confidence with leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Highly organized, capable of tracking multiple streams of critical activities at once.
- Experience working in a technical capacity with LEO, MEO or GEO Spacecraft system definition and design.
- Comfortable interacting with customers, both institutional (UKSA, ESA) and commercial.
