Motivated to join us and make a difference beyond earth? We are currently looking for a Robotics Engineer to join our team.


The Role

 

The successful candidate will be a key member of the Luxembourg Team and will help develop robotic systems for ClearSpace's future commercial space missions. 

Responsibilities

  • Developing core robotic technologies to address a wide variety of in-orbit services, including (but not limited to) cooperative and non-cooperative capture, docking, inspection, refueling, repair, life-extension, and assembly.
  • Supporting the development of world-class robotics simulation and testing capabilities and facilities.
  • Defining ClearSpace's robotics products, with emphases on modularity and scalability.
  • Delivering robotic solutions to key programs, to schedule, cost and performance requirements.
  • Helping define and execute validation, verification and test plans.
  • Interfacing with customers, partners, and subcontractors.
  • Support proposal writing for future business. 
  • Robotics application programming.

Must Have

  • 3+ years experience of robotics, mechatronics or embedded electrical engineering within the space industry.
  • Understanding of robotics foundation theory.
  • Understanding of motor control, and experience of embedded software and programming
  • Comfortable interacting with customers, both institutional (ESA, EC, LSA) and commercial.
  • Programming in Matlab/Simulink, Python, C/C++ (at least one).

Nice to have

  • (BSc/MSc) Degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics, Robotics or Embedded Electronics similar.
  • Familiarity with the full space program lifecycle, from business development, proposal generation and contract negotiations, all the way through design, development, assembly, test and successful delivery.
